Jerry Lee Walker died peacefully on November 12, 2018, in Nocona, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 15 at Bethel Baptist Church in Nocona, Texas under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 at the funeral home.

Jerry was born in Sadler, Texas on October 11, 1934 to V L and Mozelle Walker. He spent most of his life in Ringgold, Texas, where he still lived at the time of his death. His early career was in the mobile home industry. However, his true talent lay in cabinet making, and he started his own business and spent most of his working life building custom kitchen cabinets and other furniture pieces.

Jerry’s pride and joy was his family. He married the love of his life, Minnie Allen, on August 22, 1959. Their first daughter, Karen Sue, was born on Christmas Day of 1960. Linda Lea followed on January 4 of 1963, and Kathy Jean, the baby, joined the family on March 6, 1967. The ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s were good times in the Walker family with lots of basketball games, camping trips, family gatherings, and good food. Jerry’s favorite hobby was playing dominoes.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Minnie Allen Walker; daughters Karen Walker, Linda Wickersham, and Kathy Sayers; bonus daughters Paula Ewing Dobbs, Tami Ewing Henry and Shari Ewing Hillard; sister Dorothy Crabtree and her husband Tom. The biggest blessings of his life were his grandchildren, Michael Sayers, Zach Hammer, Luke Hammer, Keaton Sayers, Preston Wickersham, Jessica Wickersham, and Carson Wickersham. He also found joy from his numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

Memorials may be made to Ringgold Cemetery Association in care of Johnny Reynolds at 1108 Hanson Road, Ringgold, Texas 76261.
